My friends Sunny & Po’s daughters were visiting me this weekend with their friend Dave. Sure I took them around to see the usual High Point sights like The World’s Biggest Bureau.
And of course all of our friends know that our rooster sculpture in our front yard has become a landmark in its own right.
But I think they all really enjoyed going to Elsewhere. It’s a very unusual art installation that is considered a living museum within a former thrift store in Greensboro, NC. Here we are pretending to be on television at Elsewhere.
My fur babies were a big hit with the kids. Hershey never got so many belly rubs in his life and Loolie was over the top having so much attention.
All of us are big foodies. Here we are at hole-in-the-wall pho noodle house Van Loi II after eating our fill of pho.
For me, the highlight of this visit was having the house filled with youthful energy from people that I love very much.
It’s especially helpful during High Point Furniture Market week when it’s very apparent that Scott is no longer here.
Then again…I took the gang to All A-Flutter Butterfly Farm on opening day so we could experience the Monarch butterflies. One landed near my camera. After an attendant put sugar on my nose this queen Monarch landed on me! If you’ve been following this blog you know what magic butterflies meant to us.
Butterflies like this beauty painted by Scott Morgan. Have a wonderful weekend and remember: we can fly!

Katy, the photographs are great and really capture the fun and energy of your time with the kids. I am sure Scott would’ve laughed like I did at the flutterby stuck to your nose! 🙂

Hi Dan— Yes, it’s the same one that’s on the post cards! Symbol of High Point— a crazy concrete actual building with rooms in it! It was for sale up until last year I think someone bought it. xo Katy
